Harrogate Town have signed striker Noel Whelan and midfielder Luke Malcher ahead of this weekend's FA Trophy game at Durham City.

Whelan, 33, has plenty of Football League experience, with Leeds United, Coventry City and Middlesbrough among his former clubs.

The 21-year old Malcher is a product of Huddersfield Town's academy and he can play up front as well as midfield.

Both are available for selection for Saturday's match.

The players will join the rest of the squad at Thursday's training session on Leeds United's artificial pitch at Thorpe Arch in preparation for the tie, which will be played on a similar surface.
