Swann succeeded Pat Lobley as Gainsborough chairman in October
Gainsborough Trinity chairman Peter Swann has successfully completed his takeover of the Blue Square North club.
At an extraordinary general meeting on Monday more than 90% of Trinity's shareholders voted in favour of Swann's proposal to buy them out.
Swann told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "This gives us time to get the future sorted and develop new facilities.
"It's a long-term plan but it's one we can work on now without looking over our shoulder."
Swann, who is now the club's chairman, director of football and majority shareholder, has already invested heavily since joining the board of directors.
He had promised further funding if his takeover was voted through, but warned that the club could struggle without the extra investment towards a new training ground and community facilities.
But Swann admitted that Gainsborough's future at the Northolme was secure for the time being.
"The most important thing is to make the club stable, get these new facilities and see how we are in the next couple of seasons.
"If we start to progress up the leagues then we'll have to look at moving to a new stadium but at this moment in time it's all about playing football at the Northolme."
