Swann will continue in his role as director of football
Peter Swann has been appointed chairman of Gainsborough Trinity, following Pat Lobley's resignation after nine years.
It comes amid a dispute between Trinity and the Blues Club, who own their Northolme ground and lease it back to the Blue Square North club.
The lease expires in April, but a new arrangement has yet to be reached.
Swann told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We'll be sitting down with the Blues Club and trying to sort out this situation as soon as we can."
But Swann, who will continue in his role as director of football, denied that his appointment, along with the dispute, put the club a step closer to moving to a new ground.
He said: "It has been an idea, but that's all.
"As with any football club you have to look at all the options, but we've been looking to sign another 10-year lease at the Northolme so it's not at the forefront of our ideas.
"I'm proud to be the chairman and I think it should be an exciting time for the club."
