Boston United's run of four victories was ended with a 2-1 defeat by Bradford Park Avenue at York Street in the Unibond Premier Division on Saturday.
After a bright start by the Pilgrims, Chris Hall netted a first-half brace for the visitors before Mark Haran's own goal in added time reduced arrears.
Manager Tommy Taylor told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "For the first 15 minutes we got the ball down and passed well.
"Once they scored a few heads dropped, and the second goal killed us off."
Spalding United are through to the next stage of the FA Trophy after a 2-1 win at home to Wakefield in the preliminary round, thanks to a brace from Martin Wormall.
Meanwhile, Grantham Town fell at the first hurdle, going down to another heavy defeat.
With caretaker manager Mick Hogg at the helm following John Wilkinson's departure the Gingerbreads lost 4-1 at Clitheroe, with Jamie Gyoury-Hales on target for them.
Holbeach United face an FA Vase first-round replay after a 1-1 draw at home to Felixstowe and Walton, and there were no fewer than 10 goals at the Vic Couzens stadium, where Stamford came from behind three times against Lincoln United before going on to win their Unibond Challenge Cup first-round tie 6-4 after extra time.
