The draw with Frickley was Welsh's first game as permanent Boston boss
Boston United extended their unbeaten run in the Unibond League Premier Division to four games with a 0-0 draw at Frickley Athletic on Saturday.
Ollie Ryan and Jon Rowan went close for the Pilgrims, while Frickley had Steve Robinson sent off in the second half for a challenge on Dave Farrell.
Manager Steve Welsh told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I've got mixed feelings.
"One half of me is frustrated but the other half is pleased we kept a clean sheet, so overall I'm satisfied."
The game was Boston's first game since Welsh was appointed manager on a permanent basis, having previously been in temporary charge following the departure of Tommy Taylor.
Welsh was keen to take the positives out of his side's performance, adding: "I felt it was one of those days when you have to grind a result out.
"We had the better of the chances and, if we'd taken them we'd have been all right, but I'm pleased we kept the clean sheet."
Welsh has also confirmed that he is in talks with former Pilgrims defender Tony Crane about a return to York Street.
Crane made 29 appearances for the club in the Blue Square North last season.
In the Unibond League Division One South, Danny Brooks' goal three minutes from time sank Rushall Olympic and earned Grantham Town their first victory in six games.
Rushall had rallied to cancel out goals by Tom Mallinson and Jack Pemberton before Brooks gave Grantham a 3-2 victory.
Sean Cann and Dave Frecklington were on target as Lincoln United won 2-0 at Quorn, while goals from Adam Cunnington, Miles Chamberlain and Matt Oswin gave Stamford a 3-1 victory at Goole AFC.
