The going at Rasen on Boxing Day is good with soft to good in places |
Market Rasen racecourse hosts its most important fixture of the season on Boxing Day with more than eleven thousand people expected to turn up. Clerk of the course Nick Patten is hoping for a good day's racing for the six-race card. He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "At this stage we couldn't be happier, the course is looking good." The feature race is the National, with Lee Stephens on Victory Gunner looking for their fourth win. Stephens said: "I don't know why he likes the course, but he always seems to do well there, having won three times we will be hoping to make it four and I think he has a real chance."
