Surface to Air has come back from injury to race in the National |
Lincolnshire trainer Chris Bealby says he is looking forward to fielding his first horse in the Grand National. Surface to Air, which is trained near Grantham, is rated a 50-1 shot for the race on Saturday. Bealby told BBC Lincolnshire: "All the hard work has been done now, it is amazing being involved and it is quite nerve-wracking on a daily basis. "I hope he will get round, if he got in the money that would be even better. If he won you wouldn't see me for weeks." The horse won the English Summer National at Uttoxeter in 2008 but has been plagued with injury since then. Jockey Tom Messenger, who will saddle Surface to Air, is also riding in the race for the first time.
