Torquay United had to bide their time before securing victory over a determined Bath City side in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Gulls keeper Scott Bevan made a good save from Stuart Douglas to keep the home side level.

But Torquay were creating the better chances and Lee Mansell put them ahead after the break.

Roscoe Dsane then added a second goal to erase any thoughts of a possible replay in Somerset.

But the path to the second round was achieved in front of the club's lowest crowd of the season, just 1,176.
