Didcot Town manager Stuart Peace says his team need to stay in promotion contention by Christmas if they are to harbour realistic title ambitions.
The Railwaymen lead Division One South & West of the Southern League, but Peace says their good run must continue if they want to go up automatically.
"What we have to do is keep hanging in there," Peace told BBC Oxford.
"If you are there by Christmas it gives you a rough idea what you have to do for the rest of the season."
