AFC Telford United stretched their unbeaten run to 15 games with a professional display to defeat Gateshead 1-0 at the New Bucks Head.

A second-half goal from on-loan defender James Meredith was enough to seal all three points and keep Telford fifth in Blue Square North.

Manager Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire: "For me that's the biggest win of the season.

"Gateshead are a very good side and I would have been happy with a point."
