Dover chairman slates abandonment

Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has criticised the decision to call off Saturday's FA Trophy match with Cambridge City.

The referee stopped the game because of bad weather in the 58th minute.

"It was one of the most ridiculous decisions I've ever seen. The pitch got no more dangerous than it was at the start," Parmenter told BBC Radio Kent.

"The Cambridge manager put the referee under a lot of pressure at half-time because they were losing."

Dover were leading the second qualifying round tie 2-0 when the game was abandoned, after goals by John Keister and Laurence Ball.
