Taylor urges change of approach

Tommy Taylor
Taylor says his team need to adapt to the style of the league

Boston United manager Tommy Taylor has told his team to play 'percentage football' if they are to gatecrash the top three.

Taylor said the Pilgrims must play with more care if they are to turn their games in hand into wins.

He said:"They think they're entitled to play the football they want to play and they can't, not in this league.

"When it comes to fighting and muscling people out, we're not a Bradford PA or a Hednesford."

You can't pass it on the edge of our box and hope they are not going to kick you and score a goal

Taylor's team are 16th in the UniBond Premier League, although some rivals have played as many as four games more.

He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We've got to stand up and be counted because quality-wise we've got one of the better teams.

"Once we've got hold of the ball then you can start passing it. You can't pass it on the edge of our box and hope they are not going to kick you and score a goal."

He added: "There's only one other team that's played 12 games like we have so there's quite a few points to pick up.

"I said to the boys when we do get these points and we finish up on the same scores as everybody else we've got to be lying second or third."
