Trinity's fight pleases Charles

Gainsborough Trinity manager Steve Charles was pleased with the way his side held Tamworth to a 0-0 draw in Blue Square North on Saturday.

Simon Bird, Marc Newsham and Adam Smith all had chances for Trinity, while goalkeeper Adam Sollitt made a crucial late save to deny the league leaders.

Manager Steve Charles told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We battled really well.

"We're not renowned for being a rough side but I'm proud of the way the lads got stuck in and stuck to the task."

Charles felt that Trinity's fourth consecutive away match could have seen them pick up all three points at the Lamb.

"In the second half I thought we could have held the ball better, especially in the last third of the pitch," he admitted.

"If we'd done that I think we'd have gone on to win the game."
