Farsley Celtic sack manager Deacy

Farsley Celtic have sacked manager John Deacy after just 10 games of the Blue Square North season.

Deacy was assistant manager under Lee Sinnott and played a major part in the club's three promotions to the Blue Square Premier in just four years.

The former Middlesborough academy player took over as manager in November 2007 when Sinnott left for Port Vale.

Deacy won just 10 league games during his entire reign and Neil Parsley has been placed in caretaker charge.

Speaking on Thursday, less than 24 hours before getting sacked, Deacy had called on everyone at the West Yorkshire club to stick together.

"The pressure is on me having not won since August," Deacy told BBC Radio Leeds.

"The board have had a word with me this week, so the pressure is certainly on me.

"I think you need some reassure and support from the board, we all need to stick together at the moment.

"If the club is going through good times we need to stick together and if it's going through sticky times it needs to stick together too."
