Season starts now - Hetherington

Leeds

Leeds Rugby chief executive Gary Hetherington says the hard work behind the scenes at the club continues just days after their Grand Final win.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "We've got some big decisions to make about the state of our ground, the South Stand particularly is in need of renovation.

"We're looking forward to next season, not just to developing our team, but our stadium as well."

"So really next season starts today (Monday) for everybody at Leeds."

Leeds had to cut the capacity at Headingley for the Grand Final eliminator against Wigan due to safety reasons.

Only the top half of the South Stand was open after the annual report on the terrace recommended extra testing to investigate its long-term viability.

Almost 7,000 fans turned up at Headingley on Sunday to celebrate the Rhinos' Grand Final win over St Helens that saw them defend their Super League title.

"There's so much to look forward to for next season, and in particular the chance to defend our world-title crown against the Manly Sea Eagles, the best team in Australia."
