Redditch United manager Garry Whild says he wants his skipper Lee Downs to get more goals, like the one he got in the midweek draw at King's Lynn.
Ahead of the Reds' Blue Square North trip to Vauxhall Motors, Whild says Downs has set a good example and that his goal typified the way he plays.
"He's a good captain," said Whild. "He keeps going and doing the right things.
"He doesn't get many goals but we keep encouraging him to get forward, he'll remember that goal for a long time."
Whild feels his young players are learning but he told BBC Hereford and Worcester that they have to grow up quickly in Blue Square North.
"We need a bit more conviction on the field," he said. "They are a young squad who need to believe in themselves a bit more.
"With youngsters you have to get into them a bit more and make sure they are taking responsibility on the pitch.
"We have two or three out who could help the lads along with more experience."
BBC Hereford and Worcester will have coverage of Redditch United's game at Vauxhall Motors in Sport on Saturday with Trevor Owens.
