Boston United have appointed former striker Chris Cook to the club's board of directors.

Cook, 46, is the Pilgrims' all-time leading goalscorer with 181 in 481 appearances between 1978 and 1998.

He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I've always considered the club to be my club, and I'm willing to help in any way I can.

"I'm as much a fan as I am a worker, and feel honoured to have been given the chance to become a director."
