The consortium are keen to takeover at St George's Lane
Worcester City's board has rejected a call from a group of shareholders for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM).
City chairman Dave Boddy said in a statement that the group did not have the 10% of authenticated shareholder support needed.
"The first document received included shareholders' names who had not given their consent to call an EGM," he said.
A consortium of shareholders at Worcester City are looking to takeover the Blue Square South club.
The group have called an open meeting for fans on Friday at Worcestershire County Cricket Club at which they aim to explain why they called for an EGM.
But Boddy insists: "The said shareholders [those who had not given their consent] have put it in writing to us that they did not agree to their shares being used."
