Pell has been studying at university in Newcastle

Gainsborough Trinity defender Richard Pell has moved to fellow Blue Square North side Blyth Spartans.

Pell, 25, had expressed a desire to link up with a club in the North East where he is a physiotherapy student.

He had already rejected an offer from Trinity's county rivals Boston United, where he would have been re-united with former team-mate Wes Parker.

Pell also turned down a new contract offer from Gainsborough, whom he joined from Boston Town three seasons ago.
