Sheridan played in the Premier League with Barnsley
Barrow co-boss Darren Sheridan believes the players that won promotion to the Blue Square Premier have the ability to cope in the higher division.
"Dave [Bayliss] and I have been talking about it, the lads did so well last season," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"The squad we've got deserves a chance, all the players have done really well and deserve to see if they can handle it in that league.
"But obviously we're going to add a few more bodies to the squad."
With a part-time set up still in operation at Holker Street, going into the Blue Square Premier will pitch them against full-time squads, some with vast experience of the Football League.

However Sheridan, whose playing career took in a host of league clubs including top-flight football at Barnsley, believes the side can adapt to a stricter schedule.
"We know it is going to be hard but I think the lads are capable of handling it," he said.
"Obviously the training will be harder, the lads know that, but just three or four bodies added to the squad and I think we'll be OK."
