Smith says his players' efforts have made him proud

AFC Telford boss Rob Smith has thanked every one of his players for their efforts after they lost to Barrow in the Blue Square North play-offs.

"I cannot single anyone out - it has been a squad effort from the first day right through to the end," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We have had our ups and downs, personal problems, all sorts - but the players have given me everything.

"Remember, we were second in the table. We came up hoping for 10th or above."

Telford found in-form Barrow too strong for them, losing 2-0 in both legs.

But Smith added: "I'm really proud of what the players have done and what they've achieved.

"Now we've got to come back even stronger from the experience."
