JSK lift Caf Cup
JSK celebrate their win
JSK now have the trophy to keep
Tonnerre Yaounde 1-0 JSK (Aggregate: 1-4)

JSK completed a hat-trick of three Caf Cup in a row despite a 1-0 defeat in the second leg of the final to Tonnerre Yaounde.

In the end, it was clear Yaounde would need a miracle to pull back the four goals they conceded in the away leg in Kabylie.

That miracle briefly looked possible as Tonnere obtained an early curtain raiser through Jean Eyoum in the 11th minute of the match.

Eyoum powered in from a corner kick after the Kabylie defence cleared poorly.

That was six minutes after the match resumed following an incident that saw the second assistant referee, Oueslati Taoufik of Tunisia, hit by a missile thrown from the crowd.

Play stopped for 21 minutes for first aid to be administered and for Taoufik to recover.

But Tonnerre found themselves unable to cause JSK further worry, and the Algerians themselves began to dictate the game.

Strikers Dob Fodhil, Berguigua, and Yacine Amaouche ran rings around Tonnerre's defence, although were unable to find the net themselves.

By the 20th minute the game became one of attacks and counter-attacks, concluded by misses.

Disappointment

After the break, Tonnerre's play continued to worsen, and they were barely able to muster an effort on target.

By the 70th minute, disappointed fans started leaving the stadium, sure that it was all over for Tonnerre.

Cameroon's Prime Minister, Peter Musonge, handed the Cap Cup to skipper Brahim Zafour.

Being their third consecutive win, the Algerian club took the trophy for keeps.

Martin Ntougou, national trainer on secondment to Tonnerre, said they lost the trophy in the away led final when they were defeated 4-0.

"Our players were under too much pressure here," he said.

"That could not help them play well. And in addition some were injured."

Kabylie's coach, Jean Yves Chay, said his side won because they played with confidence and determination.

A Caf official, meanwhile, said he was sure Cameroon would be punished for the incident involving the injury to linesman, which could see the stadium out of use for up to six months.
