Angolan side Santos defeated Entete Setif of Algeria 1-0 on Sunday to join them at the top of Group A of the Confederation Cup.
The home side won the game in Luanda thanks to a late strike by Sau.
The visitors were resolute until the 83rd minute when Sau took advantage of a defensive slip-up to hand his side the victory.
The win has taken Santos to joint top of Group A with Entete Setif who also have six points.
Meanwhile, Bayelsa United revived their hopes in the Confederation Cup after beating Primeiro de Agosto 4-0 on Saturday.
The Nigeria champions defeated the Angolans to secure their first Group B points in Oghara.
Bayelsa took a 2-0 lead before the break thanks to strikes by Mannir Ubale and Osas Okoro.
Chibuzor Okonkwo extended the home side's lead in the 62nd minute before Kadiri Ahmed's superb strike sealed the on 71 minutes.
Bayelsa's win leaves the group wide open even though they remain at the bottom of the table with three points.
They are just two points adrift of group leaders Stade Malien of Mali who held Haras El-Hodoud to a 1-1 draw in Alexandria on Friday.
Striker Bakary Coulibaly levelled up for the visitors from recess after Ahmed Abdul-Ghani had given the Egyptians the lead on 38 minutes.
