Egypt striker Mido wants to carry on playing for Middlesbrough

Egypt striker Mido has admitted he wants to extend his time with English Premier League side Middlesbrough.

The 25-year-old has been at seven clubs in 10 years and was recently linked with moves to Wigan and Fulham.

He has made a good start to the current campaign scoring three goals in four Premier League games so far.

"I am staying at Middlesbrough and I will see whether it will work or not, I have worked very hard to try to make it work," he said.

"I have spent the whole summer working on my fitness and I think I am starting to see the benefits now."

He admitted that in the past he has been to keen to move clubs if things were not going well for him.

"I have made mistakes in my career with some of my moves, I didn't stay and fight for my position," he said.

"Now I have to learn from the past and think that it is not always an option to go somewhere else when I am not in the team.

"Sometimes you have to test yourself. You have to do everything you can to earn yourself a position in the starting 11."

"At certain moments I was very close to leaving Middlesbrough.

"But when I spoke to the manager I was told that I was part of his plans and he wanted me to stay."
