Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe remains in charge of the GFA |
A court has ordered Ghana Football Association chairman (GFA) Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe and the executive council to resolve their differences out of court.
A high court in Accra said on Thursday that the feuding parties must sort out their problems in the interest of Ghana football.
Justice Kobina Acquaye has given the two parties until 1 December to report back with an outcome.
"What you are doing will not do us any good and please don't come back telling me you could not resolve the issues," he said.
GFA chairman Nyaho-Tamakloe had been seeking a permanent injunction from the court to prevent the executive council from going ahead with impeachment proceedings against him.
The high court, however, ordered the Ministry of Youth and Sports to form a committee that includes people from both sides to resolve the problem.
The current dispute started when the GFA chairman questioned the essence, statutory powers and size of the executive council in a letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports that was leaked to the press.
Both parties have written to world football's governing body Fifa to explain their side of a power crisis that has divided the football association.
Tamakloe has found himself increasingly isolated in the crisis after criticism by members of the management board he heads.
This was followed by the Ghana League Clubs Association's decision to withdraw their financial contribution to the GFA in protest at Nyaho-Tamakloe's leadership.
The court ruling means Tamakloe remains the man in charge for the time being as the Ministry of Youth and Sports attempts to end the raging power struggle.
