Fifa President Sepp Blatter wants to meet the Kenyan Sports Minister |
Fifa president Sepp Blatter has agreed to meet Kenya's Sports Minister Ochilo Ayacko in Zurich later this month. The two men will discuss Kenya's indefinite suspension from international football for government interference in the sport.
Fifa's deputy secretary general Jerome Champagne confirmed to BBC Sport that Blatter will meet Ayacko on 20 July and said the pair are likely to be joined by Kipchoge Keino.
Keino was appointed to head the so-called Normalisation Committee formed at a meeting on 9 July in Zurich to resolve the crisis that triggered Kenya's ban from the international stage.
The Kenyan government was not represented at that meeting and has since demanded changes to Keino's committee.
Part of a letter from Champagne to Ayacko said: "The Fifa president informed us that he would be happy to receive you in Zurich on 20 July at 1600 (local time).
"Mr Joseph S. Blatter insisted on the presence of Kipchoge Keino, President of the Kenya Football Federation's Normalisation Committee, for this very important meeting.
"Unfortunately, this date is the only date available considering the Fifa President's schedule between two trips abroad."
