Guinea and Morocco are the leaders in Group Five of the 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign after grabbing vital away points. Morocco collected all three points against Botswana with a 1-0 win.
Youssouf Mokhtari's free-kick in the 27th minute gave the Moroccans their first win in the qualifiers.
Guinea came away with a point as they ended their game in Malawi locked at 1-1.
Guinea were rescued by Kaba Diawara in the latter stages of the game after picking up a long ball from his goalkeeper Kemoko Camara and firing home the equalizer in the 80th minute.
Malawi had taken the lead through substitute Albert Mpinganjire just eight minutes earlier when he fired home a cross from Fisher Kondowe.
Malawi had several other good scoring chances with Esau Kanyenda shooting over the bar before his captain Patrick Mabedi's free-kick was brilliantly saved by Camara in the Guinean goal.
Guinea had their own chances as Fode Mansare failed to score with only the keeper to beat.
Guinea tentatively lead the group on goal difference but are tied on four points with the Moroccans.
Tunisia, who did not play this weekend due to Kenya's indefinite suspension by Fifa, are third in the group with three points.
Botswana also have three points but have a poorer goal difference. Malawi have just two points in fifth position, while Kenya are yet to play a match.
The East Africans are due to meet with Fifa on 9 July in an attempt to sort out the ongoing crisis in the sport in Kenya.
