Esperance's Zied Bhairi
Zied Bhairi's goal led Esperance to victory and league success

Esperance Sportive Tunis are champions for the seventh consecutive season after beating ES Beni-Khalled 3-0 in the penultimate round on Sunday.

Closest rivals Etoile Sportive Sahel who have 43 points, surprisingly drew 1-1 at home in Sousse with bottom-placed CO Transport.

Etoile's draw helped Esperance take the title with a seven-point lead ahead of the final round of games this coming Thursday and Friday.

Goals from defender Zied Bhairi just before half-time followed by a Skander Souayah penalty and a 69th-minute strike by Hamdi Harbaoui gave Esperance their twentieth league crown.

Esperance and runner-up Etoile both qualify for next year's Champions League.

A shock defeat for third-placed Club Africain, who have 39 points, ended their bid for the second Champions League spot place after losing 3-2 at home to CS Hammam-Lif in Tunis.

Algeria

USM Algiers won a record seventh Algerian Cup after beating arch-rivals Jeunesse Sportive Kabylie 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out.

The two sides were tied 0-0 after 120 minutes in an encounter that lacked the much-predicted spark.

Bilal Dziri, USMA's ace midfielder, scored the winning penalty in the sudden-death stage of the shoot-out to deny JSK a league and cup double.

The game marked the end of former Algerian skipper Moussa Saib's football career.

The 36-year-old has helped JSK win the league title for the first time in 10 years.

Cameroon

The eight teams who will compete in the league title-deciding second stage are now known after the final round of the first phase took place last week.

Title holders Coton Sport Garoua went through from Group A, as did Sable Batie, Fovu Baham and Tonnerre Yaounde.

Racing Bafoussam, Canon Yaounde, Bamboutos and Union Douala qualified from the other group to play in the Super League.

At the other end of the tables, Cintra Yaounde and Renaissance Ngoumou have been relegated to the second division after they finished bottom of their respective nine-team groups.

The remaining four teams in each group will be engaged in a separate round robin play-off which will decide the remaining two teams to be relegated.

Angola

Inter Clube reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after knocking out defending league champions AS Aviacao on a penalty shoot-out.

Inter, who are the defending Cup holders, had drawn 1-1 with ASA after 90 minutes.

League leaders Petro Atletico Luanda are another team through to the last eight after their 2-0 dismissal of Desportivo Neves.

Sonangol Namibe and Premeiro Agosto also booked their places with penalty shoot-out victories, while Petro Huambo outclassed FC Bravos Maquis 4-0.

Sporting Cabinda qualified after Premeiro Maio withdrew for financial reasons, and non-first division sides Desportivo Huila and Brilhantes Bengo are the last two through to the quarter-finals.

Senegal

The quarter-finals of the FA Cup will be completed on Monday when Jeanne d'Arc face Khombole in Dakar.

Both Asfa and CS Sucriere won penalty shoot-outs to qualify for the last eight, while Diaraf and Ndiambour earned their passage during extra-time.

Douane and Stade Mbour both registered 2-1 victories, beating Port and Police respectively within regulation time.

A singe goal was enough to secure Linguere their quarter-final place at the expense of Saloum.

Morocco

League champions Raja Casablanca suffered an upset in the FA Cup quarter-finals, losing 1-0 to second division FUS Rabat.

Said Tabat scored eight minutes from time to put his side through to the semi-finals.

Wydad Casablanca came from behind to beat Olympic Dchira 2-1 and so gain a place in the last four.

Khalid Oumansour and Mourad Raji scored for Wydad in the last 11 minutes of the first-half to secure their side's passage.

Newly-promoted first division side Union Touarga narrowly lost to FAR Rabat who triumphed following a late goal from Rachid Reggadi.

In the semi-finals, FAR will play Jeunesse Massira, who beat Hassania Agadir 2-1 in Laayoune, and Wydad will take on FUS.

The semi-finals will be played next weekend.

Ivory Coast

Stade d'Abidjan defeated Stella 1-0 in the big game of the fourth round to qualify for the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Ollo Kambou scored from the penalty spot in the 70th minute to see Stade through ito the last eight after his side dominated the second-half.

In Yamoussoukro, Cup holders Asec defeated Man FC 2-1 to qualify while in Toumoudi, Bouafle eliminated Satellite FC 2-0.

Sewe Sport San Pedro beat Moossou 4-2 and SO Armee edged out JC Abidjan 5-4 on penalties.

The outstanding game between Rio Anyama and Korhogo will complete the quarter-finals line-up.

Namibia

Blue Waters won the league title on Saturday after beating XI Arrows 3-1 on the last day of the season.

The win was more than what Blue Waters required as a draw would have been enough to dislodge closest rivals Civics.

Led by Zimbabwean coach Shepherd Murape, Blue Waters finished the season with 72 points, losing just twice in 30 games.

Blue Waters last won the league four years ago.
