Two senior officials of the embattled Kenya Football Federation (KFF) have threatened to boycott next month's meeting called by Fifa to resolve the crisis in Kenya football. Hussein Swaleh secretary general of the KFF - dissolved by the government but recognised by Fifa - raised eyebrows when he said Kenya's problems could be resolved without the intervention of "foreigners".
Swaleh said: "The KFF will not participate in any dialogue with outsiders.
"We want independent people to represent the country and not foreigners to talk about Kenya football," Swaleh said.
His chairman Maina Kariuki added: "The meeting should be between the KFF, the government and Fifa, not anybody else.
"There is a well orchestrated plan to kill Kenya football by foreigners."
The term "foreigners" was widely interpreted as a thinly veiled reference to the chairman of Premier League side Mathare United, Bob Munro, who is a Canadian national.
But an angry Munro hit back, saying anyone calling him a foreigner was misguided.
He fumed: "They should not be looking at the colour of my skin but what I have done for Kenyan football.
"My contribution to the development of Kenyan football has got nothing to do with where I come from."
Both Swaleh and Kariuki have called for Kenya's delegation for the 9 July meeting at Fifa headquarters to be reconstituted in an apparent attempt to sideline Munro.
