Mabizela said he is uncertain about his future |
South Africa defender Mbulelo Mabizela has said he is not sure whether he will stay at English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur next season.
"It's a difficult question but I will deal with the situation when it comes," Mabizela told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview during South Africa's recent training camp in Bagshot, England.
"However, I don't want to put it in my mind that I'd leave them because they've been good to me."
Mabizela, who joined Spurs from South African club Orlando Pirates at the beginning of the season, has been unable to command a regular place in the side.
But he insists that the situation is not a problematic one.
He said: "It's my first season, so I was expecting such a thing.
"But I think I should be given a chance just like every other player at the club.
"When my chance comes I will make the most of it."
Mabizela is convinced that Spurs, who have managed to preserve their Premiership status for another season, could end the season on an honourable note.
"It's a very difficult period for us because we've not been putting a lot of points on the board.
"But with the way we played against Arsenal [last weekend], we showed that we're not finished yet," he said.
