Mabizela sparks Spurs
Mbulelo Mabizela
Mabizela's wonder goal turned the game
Leicester 1-2 Tottenham

Mbulelo Mabizela struck a wonder goal to kickstart a Spurs revival as the Londoners snatched victory at Leicester.

Mabizela's equaliser was his first goal for the club he joined in the summer.

The result means Leicester have now lost their last four league matches and they remain rooted to the foot of the table following Wolves' draw at Fulham on Saturday.

Tottenham goalkeeper Kasey Keller had done his best to help his former club claim all the points after he let Paul Dickov's tame shot slip through his legs and into the net.

And the shocking gaffe seemed to have gifted Leicester victory until substitute Mabizela crashed a superb strike high into the top right corner and Kanoute slotted the winner late on.

Leicester will feel it should all have been so different after they dominated the match for long spells.

KEY MOMENTS
38 mins: Dickov's shot beats Keller to put Leicester ahead
79 mins: Mabizela puts Spurs back in the match
90 mins: Kanoute strikes to claim the win for Spurs

For most of the game, Spurs were outfought and outplayed.

It wasn't until the second-half, and the introduction of on-loan midfielder Stephane Dalmat, that Spurs looked capable of getting anything from the match.

Until then, Leicester's tenacity was the difference between the sides - and it was in midfield that the Foxes' competitiveness paid greatest dividends.

Darren Anderton and Gus Poyet struggled to win possession for Spurs, leaving front pair Freddie Kanoute and Robbie Keane horribly isolated.

By contrast, Leicester's Muzzy Izzet was a constant threat as he supplied the lively Dickov and former White Hart Lane striker Les Ferdinand.

It was Izzet who nearly opened the scoring inside two minutes but he was denied by a smart stop by Keller.

But if the American international keeper thought that was an indicator he was about to have a good day, he was to be entirely mistaken.

Dickov's work-rate was rewarded shortly before the interval when he latched on to a long through ball and teed up a shot.

His effort should have been gathered easily by Keller, but somehow he let the ball slip from his grasp and could only look on in despair as it trickled into the back of the net.

However, Mabizela begam Spurs' revival and Keller's rescue as full time loomed.

He cracked a drive from outside the area that flew beyond Ian Walker and put Spurs back in the match.

And the recovery was completed moments later when the excellent Dalmat created space for himself and crashed his shot against the post.

Frenchman Kanoute was on hand to slot home the rebound and claim victory for Spurs, when defeat had earlier looked inevitable.
