Confederation Cup preview

Egyptian club Ismaili take on Stade Tunisien in the Confederation Cup
Egypt's Ismaili, last year's beaten Champions League finalists, will have to be at their best if they are to make it to the second round of this year's Confederation Cup.

The Egyptian club travels to Tunisia to take on Stade Tunisien with a slender 2-1 lead after the first leg.

Mali's Dramane Traore and Mohamed Abougreisha put the Egyptians in front but a goal from Oussama Sellami has left the North African showdown delicately balanced.

After performing miracles with Tanzania's Simba last year, Kenyan coach James Siang'a must find another if his new side Express of Uganda are to advance following a 1-1 home draw with Lobi Stars of Nigeria.

One team already celebrating progress to the second round is Santos from South Africa after their opponents Mtibwa Sugar from Tanzania withdrew from their second leg match due to financial problems.

Santos, who led 3-0 after the first leg in Tanzania, will now play either Ghana's King Faisal Babes or Dynamos from Zimbabwe.

The Ghanaians will start the match as favourites after they beat their visitors Dynamos 1-0 in Zimbabwe two weeks ago.

Zambia's Green Buffaloes look certain to advance as they take a 6-1 lead into their second leg tie in the DR Congo against DC Motema Pembe.

Two big names who need to overturn first leg deficits are Club Africain from Tunisia and Nigeria's Enugu Rangers.

The Tunisians surprisingly 2-1 lost away to Wallidan from the Gambia while the Nigerians were defeated by Nasr 1-0 in Libya.
