Lamine N'diaye is getting help at Cotonsport Garoua

Cameroon's Ministry of Sport and Youth has assigned national team coaches to help at clubs playing in the continental competitions.

Ports Minister Bidoung Mpkatt says that he hopes the move will strengthen Cameroon's chances of lifting either the African Champions League title or the Confederation Cup.

Aboubakar Soulemane, the national under-20 coach, will help out Lamine N'diaye at champions Cotonsport Garoua, while under-15 coach, Angelbert Mbarga will join Dieudonne Nke at Canon Yaounde.

Both Cotonsport and Canon are involved in the Caf Champions League.

Paul Ndanga who is assistant coach with the under-20 side has been assigned to PWD Bamenda and Charles Kandem of the women's national team assist at Sable Batie

PWD and Sable Batie are both in action in the Confederation Cup.

Although the four clubs are happy with the secondment of the coaches, they told the BBC Sport website that they still hope that the minister will provide much needed financial assistance as well.

"It's a nice thing to reinforce our technical staff, but it's far better to get subsidies," said Christopher Kaba of PWD Bamenda.

"All the clubs count on government support to perform well in the competitions."

For the past two years the government and the Cameroon football federation have given financial support to clubs involved in continental events.

All four clubs are involved in continental competition this weekend.
