Nonda underwent surgery on a knee ligament injury |
Congolese striker Shabani Nonda made the best possible return from injury, helping Monaco to a 3-3 draw against Ajaccio on Friday. The goal started a massive revival for Monaco, who were three goals down by the end of the first half.
Nonda, who had been out with a knee injury since August, scored in the 50th minute after coming on as a second half substitute.
The team's other two goals came from Miroslav Plasil in the 66th minute and Dado Prso, who scored in injury time.
It was a remarkable comeback for Monaco who had gone behind 16th-placed Ajaccio thanks to two goals from Martial Robin and one from Patrice Loko.
It was also a stunning return for Nonda, who was the league's top scorer last season.
The DR Congo international ruptured his cruciate ligament in August and had to undergo surgery.
The draw puts Monaco at the top of the French first division standings for the start of the weekend.
