Nonda is back after a career-threatening injury |
Monaco striker Shabani Nonda, the top goalscorer in the French league last season, is expected to return to action on Friday against AC Ajaccio. The DR Congo striker Nonda suffered a serious knee injury in Monaco's second game of the season against Paris St Germain on 24 August and has since had surgery.
But Monaco team doctor Eric Buracchi said on Wednesday he had given Nonda the green light to resume playing progessively.
"I hope to be able to play five or 10 minutes," Nonda said in training.
Monaco lost top spot to Olympique Lyon a week ago, partly because of injuries to their leading players.
