Didier Drogba scored twice for the Ivory Coast

Marseille striker Didier Drogba scored both goals in Wednesday's game that was played in front of just 10,000 spectators.

Drogba, shortlisted for Caf's African Player of the Year, scored his first ten minutes before the break and grabbed a second in the 65th minute.

Morocco, beaten Cup of Nations finalists, had better luck at home as they beat Angola 3-1 in Rabat.

All four goals came in the last 25 minutes of the game.

The Atlas Lions were first to strike through Nabil Baha in the 67th minute, who grabbed a second seven minutes later.

Jaouad Zairi put the match beyond the reach of the Angolans with a goal in the 77th minute.

The Southern Africans scored their consolation goal through Norieto Molieno in the 84th minute.

Egypt put their disappointing Cup of Nations performance behind them with a 2-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago in Cairo.

Egypt's new coach Italian Marco Tardelli watched the match from the stands, while his assistant Fathi Mabrouk took charge of the Pharoahs.

Just 5,000 fans turned up to see striker Hossam Hassan, Africa's most capped international, make his first appearance since the 2002 Cup of Nations in Mali.

But there was no goal for the veteran striker as Egypt's goals came from Mohamed Abu Greisha in the 59th minute and Abdel Halim Ali eight minutes later.
