Liverpool's Salif Diao has been recalled to the Senegal squad |
Liverpool's Salif Diao has been called back into Senegal's squad to play Ivory Coast in a friendly. The midfielder has been left out of the Teranga Lions' World Cup qualifiers.
Diao is one of 19 players named for the friendly against the Ivory Coast that will be played in the French town of Avignon on 18 August.
Diao's Liverpool team-mate El Hadji Diouf is still serving his four match ban after he was sent off in the African Cup of Nations in Tunisia earlier this year.
The two African nations are preparing for 2006 World Cup qualifiers next month.
Senegal play Mali in Bamako on 5 September in a Group One qualifier while the Ivorians meet Sudan in Abidjan in Group Three on the same day.
