Spain

Osasuna's Ivorian forward Ibrahim Bakayoko

It was far from a prolific weekend for Africans in the major European leagues but some Ivorians were outstanding in Belgium.

Marco Ne scored a double, while a goal each for Emmanuel Eboue and Giles Yapi Yapo gave Bevern the points as they trounced Cercle Brugge 4-0.

Despite the big win Beveren, who can field up to 10 Ivorians in their side at any time, are still in the bottom half of the table.

Elsewhere Papy Okitankoy Kimoto sealed victory for Standard Liege as they tamed Club Brugge 3-1. Kimoto from DR Congo scored the last goal five minutes before the end.

Nigerias Tosin Dosunmu scored a lone goal winner late in the first-half as his side Westerlo edged out Lierse 1-0 in an away tie.

Spain

Ibrahima Bakayoko of Ivory Coast scored for the second successive weekend as Osasuna defeated Celta Vigo 3-2.

Bakayoko scored what turned out to be the winning goal 11 minutes before the end when he put his side 3-1 up.

Tunisian midfielder Mehdi Nafti was sent-off three minutes before half-time as his side Racing Santander suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Albacete.

Germany

Burkina Faso striker Wilfried Sanou scored the third goal for his side Freiburg who went on to beat Bochum 4-2.

France

Ahmed Hassan Mido of Egypt put his side Marseille ahead just before the half-time whistle, but he was once again on the losing end as Monaco fought back to win 2-1.

Moroccan striker Youssouf Hadji scored twice for Bastia with a goal in either half, but his effort was insufficient as they lost 4-2 to Strasbourg. The Senegalese striker Mamadou Niang scored Strasbourgs third goal.

And Daniel Cousin from Gabon gave his side Le Mans the lead in their 2-0 win over Guingamp.
