Kalla's compatriot Mohamadou Idrissou also scored for Hannover but his effort turned out to be no more than a consolation effort, as they lost 5-1 to Werder Bremen.

It was a bad day at the office for Lucien Mettomo of Kaiserslautern. The Cameroonian was sent-off in his team's 4-0 defeat to Hansa Rostock.

Ghana's Lawrence Aidoo also got sent-off as his side Borussia Monchengladbach were beaten 2-1 by Hertha Berlin.

Kenya's Michael Rigi Okoth put Heusden-Zolder in the lead as they went on to beat Beerschot 2-0, while Desire Mbonabucya of Rwanda scored twice for St. Truiden, helping them to a 3-2 win over Lierse.

Lokeren's new Burkinabe signing Aristide Bance scored twice and although his club lost 3-2 to La Louviere, the 19-year-old is the side's top scorer with four goals.
