Felix Agwu believes the pressure is now on Ismaili

Enyimba chairman Felix Agwu believes the prospect of securing a place in history will spur his players onto African Champions League glory.

The Nigerian side won the first leg of the Champions League final 2-0 against Egypt's Ismaili on 30 November.

Enyimba face the Egyptians on 12 December knowing they are in a strong position to become the first Nigerian side to ever win the African Champions League.

"We have a bunch of players who are in good condition, who are all determined and who want to make history - so that's what we have going for us," Agwu told the BBC Sport website.

"My players are playing for the cup and they will play to die."

Enyimba won the first leg thanks to goals from Emeka Nwanna and Ndidi Anumnu, but missed a host of chances that could have put the tie beyond Ismaili's reach.

Yet Agwu insists his team will put the wasted opportunities behind them and win the trophy in the second leg.

"There is nothing too special about Ismaili," he explained.

"We could have beaten them by five or six goals, but unfortunately we didn't utilise all our chances. But at this level of competition, a two-goal advantage is a very good start.

"We really exposed Ismaili and I know we can beat them in Egypt."

Enyimba played the fist leg before a packed crowd in their home town of Aba, and Agwu says the prospect of playing before Ismaili's supporters will not be a problem for his players.

"My players are internationals and they have been exposed enough for them not to be intimidated by any crowd," he said.

"Fans don't play football - they can only shout and clap."

Enyimba are currently in camp in Bauchi, north-eastern Nigeria, and will travel to Egypt at least 48 hours before the second leg.
