Oliech wants to play in England |
Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech is desperate to play in England and wants to use next year's Nations Cup finals as a stepping stone into the Premiership. The 18-year-old has already struck a deal to join Olympique Marseille of France at the end of the year.
But he told BBC Sport website that his ultimate ambition is to parade his skills in the Premiership.
"My dream is to play in England and I hope this comes a step closer to reality after the Nations Cup finals.
"I'd like to finish as the top scorer in Tunisia because European clubs want a young player who can score goals.
"I believe Kenya will go far but we'll have to beat Mali in our opening match in order to give ourselves a chance.
Oliech scored twice as the Harambee Stars trounced Tanzania 3-0 in their 2006 World Cup/Nations Cup second leg qualifier in Nairobi on Saturday.
It was the first time that the young striker had lasted the entire 90 minutes and Kenyan coach Jacob Mulee liked what he saw.
"I'm very impressed and he can now rest assured that he has graduated into playing for all 90 minutes," said Mulee.
Until Saturday, Mulee had used Oliech as a second-half substitute, a situation which prompted the player to complain that he was being denied the opportunity to prove himself.
