Oliech was the hero for Kenya

Tanzania had held the Kenyans in the first match in Dar-es-Salaam, but at home the Harambee Stars were too strong, with teenage striker Dennis Oliech supplying two of the goals.

The deadlock in the tie was broken after just nine minutes, Oliech scoring with a shot from inside the area that took a wicked deflection on its way into the net.

Tanzania - continuing to show much more steel than in many recent performances - immediately attempted to respond and four minutes later Kaseem Issa found himself in a great position, but his shot was straight at Kenyan goalkeeper Francis Onyiso.

But after half an hour Mike Oteh doubled Kenya's lead with a cool shot from inside the penalty area.

And the game was effectively over as a contest before half time, as Dennis Oliech notched his second on 33 minutes.

"I am very excited by the win and I feel happy that I contributed to this crucial win that takes us through," Oliech told BBC Sport.

"Of course I also wanted to show the coach that it is worth giving me all the minutes on the pitch.

"I now have all my sights on Tunisia finals, my expectations are to finish the tournament's top scorer."

Zambia through

Another team securing a three-goal winning margin were Gabon, for whom Nzingou Chidan Star shone against Burundi in a 4-1 win.

Star scored two and set up a penalty against the Burundians, who had Alain Dizeye sent off for two bookable offences.

Stephane Nguema also grabbed a brace - including the conversion of the penalty. Gabriel Nzeyimana Longo got Burundi's consolation in injury time.

The three other matches played all ended in draws, ensuring that the teams heading in to the games ahead on aggregate went through.

Zambia were surprisingly held 1-1 at home to Seychelles - but the match was a mere formality as the Chipolopoplo had already beaten the islanders 4-0 away to ensure a 5-1 aggregate win.

Similarly, Rwanda were unconcerned at being held 1-1 away in Namibia - they had put three goals without reply past the Namibians in their home tie.

And Malawi were held 0-0 at home to Ethiopia.
