Asec win Ivorian title
Asec Mimosas
Asec win their fourth title in a row
Asec Mimosas have won the Ivorian championship for a fourth successive season after a 3-2 win over Stella on Sunday.

It is the Ivorian side's 19th league triumph in their 55-year history.

Guinean import Alhassan Koivogui was Asec's man of the match, scoring the match winner in the 90th minute.

Asec, who had been trailing arch-rivals Africa Sports Nationale for the better part of the league, finish the season two points ahead.

Africa Sports, who finish in second place, beat Sabe Bouna 3-1 in their last game of the season.

They lost the chance to snatch the title after losing 2-0 to Asec a fortnight ago.

Fans celebrated Asec's 12th title in 14 seasons by singing praises of club president Roger Ouegnin and coach Aka Kouame.

It is the first title for Kouame, who had a distinguished career as an Ivorian international.

But the Asec coach and president had borne the brunt of supporters fury after Asec's elimination from the current African champions League campaign.
