Muhidin Ndolanga insists he is still the Fat chairman |
Muhidin Ndolanga, the suspended chairman of the Football Association of Tanzania (Fat), has declared that he is still in charge of the association and claims to have the full support of Fifa.
Ndolanga has refused to recognise the constitutional authority of Fat's general assembly, which suspended his executive committee and replaced it with an interim committee in September.
Last weekend, Ndolanga attended the Fifa Extraordinary Congress in the Qatari capital Doha with one other member of his suspended committee.
"I hear there was a meeting that suspended us - I don't know who they are and I didn't take any interest as they are acting against Fifa directives," Ndolanga told the BBC Sport website.
"The people Fifa recognise were invited to Doha and they are the ones who receive all official communications."
The interim committee, which is under the control of Yahya Matta, has accused the 62-year-old of conducting Fat business 'illegally' from his private office.
And the matter is compounded by the fact that Fat has neither telephone nor fax facilities in its offices.
"Ndolanga only hands over correspondence to do with fines and debts to be paid - (but) anything 'good' he keeps for himself and his allies," Mwina Kaduguda, the secretary-general of the interim committee, has claimed.
While Ndolanga travelled to Qatar for the Fifa congress, several former top officials - who recognise the assembly that suspended them - chose not to honour the invitation.
Fifa has announced that a committee will be sent to investigate the crisis, which erupted after Ndolanga's committee was suspended for allegedly neglecting their duties due to infighting.
