Kampamba is taking 'a break' from the national team |
Zambian midfielder Gift Kampamba said the refusal of the country's FA to settle his outstanding allowances has left him with no option than to go on strike.
Kampamba, who plays for Russian club Rostselmash, told the BBC Sport website that some of the money owed to him dates back to 1999, when he was in the under-23 squad.
"I was in the team that got a silver at the All Africa Games in Johannesburg but we were only paid half of what was promised to us," complained Kampamba.
The Russian-based player also claimed he has not been given a refund of the $1,600 spent on a flight ticket bought to attend Zambia's 2004 Nations Cup qualifying match against Benin.

Kampamba said FA president Evaristo Kasunga ignored him when he tried to discuss the matter after their 2006 Nations Cup and World Cup qualifying tie in the Seychelles.
"I am tired of asking for my money because it is not good to be talking about it all the time."
"Until the FA change their attitude in the manner they deal with issues, I am taking time off from the national team.
"I am being treated with disrespect, after doing my best for the country," said Kampamba.
The FA president said they will settle their outstanding debt in November, when Kampamba is expected in Zambia.
"The money we took to the Seychelles was meant to cover expenses for that trip and was not meant for settling arrears for players."
"We shall pay him when he comes for the return leg," Kasunga insisted.
