Zambia's government has announced that the long-awaited report into what caused the 1993 air crash, in which the entire Zambian squad perished, will be released in November.
The Zambian players had been on their way to a 1994 World Cup qualifier in Senegal.
"The report will be released in the next seating of parliament," said Nevers Mumba, the country's vice-president.
"The Zambian people have been waiting for it for 10 years, which is a long time."
Parliament resumes sitting on 4 November.
The accident claimed the lives of 30 people, including 18 Zambian internationals, when the military plane in which they were travelling exploded in mid-air and crashed into the sea off the coast of Gabon.
Friends and relatives of the victims have put constant pressure on the government to release the report for several years, which the vice-president admitted was a matter of deep concern.
But the Zambian government insists the delay in releasing the report was caused by their Gabonese counterparts, who failed to conclude their part of the investigation.
Willie Malasha, the general secretary of the Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association, a body which organised the 10th anniversary of the crash, said they are looking forward to the release of the report.
"We are happy that such a pronouncement has come. Let's hope it's not just one of those political pronouncements made during by-elections.
"If the report is released as promised, it will be a good deed from the present government."
