Trabelsi missed game through injury |
Tunisia were unable to capitalise on several scoring opportunities and had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Guinea in an international friendly in Tunis on Wednesday. The Tunisians, who were using the match as a build-up to their hosting of the African Nations Cup finals in January, also missed a penalty.
The home side were on the attack for virtually the entire 90 minutes but failed to find the back of the Guinea net.
Striker Nabil Missaoui had a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the 25th minute but hit the woodwork.
Anis Ayari then compounded the agony of the small crowd of 8,000 when he failed to convert a second half penalty.
His shot was saved by the Guinean goalkeeper Kemoko Camara.
Tunisia took to the field without the highly-rated Ajax defender Hatem Trabelsi who is recovering from an ankle injury.
The visitors were also without one of their key strikers - Aboubacar Titi Camara - who plays for the English first division side West Ham.
Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer said Titi asked to be excused because he was not in good shape.
