France

Ivorian striker Didier Drogba continued his splendid form for Marseille as he scored both goals in their 2-1 win over Nice to take his tally for the season to five.

Another African striker in top form is Togo's Emmanuel Adebayor who opened the scoring for Monaco after 11 minutes as they defeated Toulouse 3-0.

Moroccan Youssouf Hadji scored his first goal of the season as the 23 year-old netted in Bastia's 2-0 win over Sochaux.

Meanwhile, Babacar Gueye of Senegal saved his side from defeat as he scored a last minute equaliser for Metz in their 1-1 draw at home to Guingamp.


Italy

Senegalese international Diomansy Kamara scored his second goal in as many weekends as Modena beat Bologna 2-0.


Holland

South African Steven Pienaar scored for club side Ajax
Burkina Faso striker Mamadou Zongo scored his first league in three years to help Vitesse Arnhem beat Utrecht 3-1.

Zongo was a key member of the Burkinabe national side until he suffered an injury two seasons ago which ruled him out of football for a long spell.

Elsewhere, Steven Pienaar of South Africa scored the last goal for Ajax in the 81st minute as the Amsterdam club thrashed Zwolle 6-0 and moved two points clear at the top of the table.


Belgium

Nigeria's Peter Odemwingie scored his first goal in the Belgian league as he opened the scoring in Louviere's 2-0 defeat of Standard Liege.

Guinean Namandian Traore also grabbed a debut goal as he netted after just four minutes in Charleroi's 1--1 draw at home to Saint Truidense.

Ivorian defender Didier Zokora grabbed a rare goal as Genk won 5-3 at Lierse.

Meanwhile, fellow Ivorian Arthur Boka had a less enjoyable afternoon as he was sent off seven minutes before full-time as his side Beveren lost 3-0 to Club Brugges.

And Burkina Faso's Omar Mussa was another African sent off in Belgium, as his side Antwerp lost 2-0 at Mouscron.


Germany

Diabang was on target for Bochum
Senegal's Mamadou Lamine Diabang was on target for Bochum who drew 2-2 away to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Diabang had equalised in the 60th minute for Bochum but his side let slip a 2-1 lead when Monchengladbach scored in the last minute of the game.


Portugal

Senegal's Fary Faye opened the account for Boavista as they won 2-1 away to Rio Ave.

Meanwhile, Gabonese striker Henri Antchouet scored his fourth goal of the season as his 81st minute goal gave Belenenses a 1-0 win over Academica Coimbra.


Turkey

Egyptian Ahmed Hassan Kemal was the only African goalscorer. He grabbed the last two goals for Besiktas as they stroll to a 5-0 win over Trabzonspor.
