France

Drogba scored in Marseille's historic win

Monaco's Shabani Nonda may be out of the league for the rest of the season but an African still tops the goalscorers chart in the first division.

Senegal's Mamadou Niang leads the pack with five goals in six matches.

Niang scored twice for Strasbourg in their 3-2 home win over Ajaccio.

Mali striker Mamadou Bagayoko and his Algerian team-mate Abdelnasser Ouadah replied for the visitors in a busy first half.

Another Senegalese striker also got on the scoresheet at the weekend, as Pape Thiaw's last-minute header saw Metz beat Montpellier 2-1.

Thiaw took his goal tally for the season to three, as did Rennes' 18-year-old Gabonese striker Stephan Nguema , who scored the second goal in their 2-0 home win over Lens.

Olympique Marseille's biggest home win in 10 years involved three African goals, as the former European champions routed Le Mans 5-0.

Egypt's Ahmed Mido scored twice after Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba opened the floodgates in the 14th minute to propel his side to the top of the standings.

Algeria's Abdelmalek Cherrad scored the only goal of the game against Nantes, taking Nice to fourth place on the table, while Tunisian Chaouki Ben Saada scored Bastia's second goal in their 4-2 win over Guingamp.


Germany

Malian striker Soumaila Coulibaly grabbed his second goal of the season when he opened scoring for SC Freiburg in their 2-2 draw at Kaiserslautern.

Cameroon striker Francis Kioyo was luckier, as his seventh minute strike for 1860 Munich set them up for a 2-1 victory over Cologne.


Holland

Amoah scored Vitesse's lone strike

Ghana's Matthew Amoah scored Vitesse Arnhem's only goal in their 1-1 draw with Roosendaal, while Moroccan Ali El Khattabi scored before half-time to give AZ Alkmaar a 2-1 lead but Feyenoord equalised 10 minutes from time.


Turkey

Egypt's Ahmed Hassan Kemal led Besiktas' impressive comeback, scoring their equaliser in their 3-1 triumph over Malatyaspor.The win enabled the Istanbul club to become league leaders.

Istanbulspor dropped into second place, despite two goals from Cameroon's Alioum Saidou in a tough 3-3 draw at Samsunspor.

Another Cameroonian, 19-year-old Emmanuel Owona, also scored at the weekend but his 25th minute goal for Elazigspor couldn't save his side from a 3-1 defeat to Akcaabat Sebatspor.

Rizespor got their first goal from Nigerian Chukwu Ndukwe, who hit the winner in their 1-0 triumph over Trabzonspor.


Belgium

Dindane scored Anderlecht's last goal

Anderlecht thrashed Lokeren 6-0, with Ivorian striker Aruna Dindane scoring the final goal.

Togo international Adekamni Olufade was not as fortunate, as he was sent off during Charleroi's 1-0 home defeat to Antwerp.

Ivorian Constance Kaiper scored Beveren's two goals in their tie against Westerlo. But it was not enough to snatch victory, as Nigeria's Tosin Dosunmu scored the third African goal of the game and helped Westerlo to a 3-2 victory.


Denmark

Zambian Mwape Miti scored Odense's second goal in their 2-0 win over Esbjerg.


Austria

Ghanaian Charles Amoah scored SV Salzburg's first goal in their decisive 5-0 win over Karntern.
