Gadaffi has a problem with his back |
Al-Saadi Gadaffi's long-awaited debut in Italy's top division has been delayed yet again. The son of Libyan leader was in the frame for Perugia's Serie A clash against AC Milan on Sunday.
But the eccentric striker has been ruled out because of a back injury picked up a few days ago.
Gadaffi's move from Libya to the provincial Italian club was one of the most widely publicised transfers of the summer.
He was, however, unable to play in new club's first match because officials had not regularised his - or any other new players' - transfers with league authorities.
The transfers were eventually completed last week but the back injury has put paid to Gadaffi's debut plans.
"Everything is in place regarding all the transfers," said Perugia spokesman Paolo Giovagnoni.
"As for Gadaffi, he won't be available on Sunday because he has a back problem."
Gadaffi's spokesman Gianluca Di Carlo said "it's up to the medical and coaching staff to decide when he plays."
